The Battle of Camden: America's WORST Defeat of the Revolution

After the fall of Charleston, the British under General Cornwallis were looking to move north to recruit loyalists and put an end to the rebellion in the American colonies. At the same time, the Americans were sending Horatio Gates to the south to take back what had been lost. These two would end up clashing just to the north of the British outpost in Camden, South Carolina and the result would be the most devastating and humiliating defeat for the patriots in the American Revolution.
