The History of Little Manila

This is the second episode in a four-part series exploring the migration and settlement of Filipino workers in south Stockton, California, beginning in the 1910s. What started as a destination for migrant laborers quickly grew into a thriving Filipino American community, home to the largest population of Filipinos outside the Philippines by the 1930s. Residents proudly named it Little Manila.
