Patty Arteaga talks about Lori Montenegro: Reporting from the Seat of Political Power

Lori Montenegro was born in Cuba in 1959 and but was raised in Miami since infancy. With a love for journalism, Lori’s first job was at a rock music format radio station. She transitioned to local Spanish-language television and became the first Afro Latina Bureau Chief of a major Spanish language network, making decisions on the reporting and coverage of a myriad of political events and dedicated to bringing a national perspective on the news to the Latina/o community. Patty Arteaga is Public Programs Manager, Race and Our Shared Future Initiative This video series is made possible with federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the National Museum of the American Latino.
