The Dispilio tablet is a 7200-year-old wooden artefact from Chalcolithic Greece covered with incised marks that some claim is ancient writing. It’s been radiocarbon dated to around 5200 BC and so, if it was writing, that would make it about two thousand years older than the oldest texts of Mesopotamia or Egypt.
