Greetings! :D
Once the very fabric of London's public transport system, the Trolleybus network operated between 1931 and 1962 across nearly every corner of the city, with the charismatic red double-decker buses, in combination with their eerie silence and superb performance, making them an able replacement for the archaic trams that had come before them.
Unfortunately, short-sighted politics and economic priorities would see the Trolleybuses disappear at the beginning of the 1960s despite the fact that they still provided the backbone of the city's surface transportation, and had recently been refurbished with a new fleet of vehicles that were expected to remain at work well into the 1970s, thus leaving the British capitol in a continuing battle to deliver more sustainable and environmentally friendly public transport.
Chapters:
0:00 - Preamble
0:45 - Rise of the Trams
4:47 - Electric Rail to Electric Wheel
9:48 - Through the War
12:45 - The Brief Heyday of the Trolleybuses
17:21 - Demise and Legacy
21:47 - Conclusion
